The Client
A Business Phone Platform for Sales and Support Teams
CloudTalk is AI-powered business phone and call center software for sales and support teams, combining calling, an AI dialer, voice AI agents, and conversation analytics in one platform.
Despite strong domain authority and a broad keyword footprint, most of its rankings sat beyond page 1, where they drove little traffic.
CloudTalk came to us in November 2023 with a clear brief: grow organic visibility for its core product and comparison pages in a category where buyers compare several vendors before choosing.

The Challenge
A High-Authority Site With Room to Rank Higher
Authority was already in place. The rankings that turn it into traffic were not.
A Multi-Use Product in Crowded Categories
CloudTalk covers business calling, dialing, and call analytics, and each one competes with many vendors in its own established software category.
Different Buyers, Different Searches
Sales teams, support teams, and recruiters search in different ways, so no single set of pages could win them all.
Most Rankings Beyond Page 2
At the start of the campaign, roughly 78% of CloudTalk’s ranking positions sat beyond position 20, well away from the page 1 results buyers click.
Authority With Little Headroom
A Domain Rating of 79 left little room to grow through authority alone, so gains had to come from rankings.
Growing AI Search Relevance
As buyers increasingly research software through AI answer engines, visibility there was becoming part of how vendors get shortlisted.
Our Approach
Building Links to the Pages That Win Business
We ran a 13-month link building campaign that started from CloudTalk’s commercial pages and worked outward to publishers.
Revenue-Page Targeting
We directed links to product, feature, and comparison pages, the pages where buyers decide, rather than spreading equity across the whole site.
Gap-Led Prospecting
We mapped keyword and competitor link gaps to find the publications that linked to competing vendors but not to the platform.
Vetted Publishers
We vetted every publication on authority, traffic, relevance, and editorial standards, and excluded thin-content sites and inflated metrics.
Editorial Outreach and Content
We pitched editors individually and wrote product-aware content for each publication, reviewed internally before submission, with every link placed in the body of the article.
The Results
Thirteen Months of Organic Growth and Sustained Authority
Verified across the full campaign window, 1 November 2023 to 30 November 2024.
Organic Traffic
CloudTalk’s organic traffic opened the campaign at 47,461 monthly visits and closed at 79,010, a gain of 66%.
The first two months eased lower, then traffic climbed through spring 2024 and paused with a short pullback in June. It held through the summer, climbed again from early autumn, and finished near the highest point in the window.
Domain Rating held at 79 across all 13 months, positions ranking in the top 3 rose from 2,670 to 4,216, and page 1 positions rose from 12,434 to 18,573.

Result: Organic traffic grew from 47,461 to 79,010 monthly visits, recovering from an early dip and a pullback in June to finish near its highest point.
Contextual Placement
Product-Aware Content Gave Each Publication a Reason to Mention CloudTalk
Result: CloudTalk is now cited about 9.9K times across five AI engines, with Google AI Overviews alone drawing 6.9K citations from 1.1K pages.
Contextual Content
I used to judge SEO by one number, traffic. Thirteen months in, I look at three: traffic up by about two thirds, more of our rankings on page one, and our pages being cited in AI answers. All three moved together, and that’s what convinced me the links were landing in the right places.
